Planning Change

Planning Change

This team dissemination project is going to be based on our clinical groups throughout the semester. Each group will choose an area of improvement that appears in their healthcare setting. We will then create an evidenced-based presentation project based off of that topic. We anticipate to begin our project by discussing our ideas during our clinical practice time. Unfortunately, we have a shortened clinical rotation this semester, so we will only be able to meet together in person a handful of times. During times when we are not able to physically meet, we plan to communicate via text message. Each member is going to have an equal portion of responsibility for the project that we are going to focus on. That way, all members can participate in every assignment with equal amount of work. If conflict is to occur, we plan to coordinate group meetings to discuss any inequities that may be present in the group work. If that does not resolve conflicts, we plan to potentially involve a group meeting with our professors to ask for their recommendations.

A large barrier that could cause complications in the future is that we are all going to be entering our preceptorships this semester. Therefore, there will be a large section of time where not everybody will be able to meet with each other. It is unfortunate that our discussions will primarily become online by that point, but with proper communication, we can learn to adjust.

The skill basis that we are learning through this project will help us encourage change within our future work fields. Rules and regulations are not changed in healthcare systems, unless evidence-based practice is present to prove otherwise. As future nurses, we will use this knowledge to further improve our future organizations. The group work aspect of the project also helps us learn how to work as a team, for that is also crucial for healthcare environments. Therefore, every aspect of this project allows us to better ourselves for our professional careers.
