Peer Review Reflection: Essay 3
For this round of peer review, I chose to be partners with Brooke. We decided to go along and reference back to the previous guidelines that we had used for the last essay. We would each make at least one comment referring to each aspect that was on the peer review check list. Brooke’s comments were extremely positive, and helped me feel more confident about my writing skills. However, I wish she would give me more general constructive feedback. It is always nice to get compliments towards your work, but it doesn’t typically help the writer seek out how to improve thereafter. In a one on one conference with Brooke, I would just ask her to point out places in my essay that aren’t very strong or need improvement. I would also ask her what she would recommend for there changes (I tend to give out recommendations to others when I review their essay regarding what I would use as a source or what I would say in a given situation). I find these types of advice very helpful in setting me in the right path towards a good essay.
For the MLA peer reflection, I was paired again with Brooke. It was helpful how she went through every individual citation and gave comments based off of what I should add/change. She went through and talked to me individually as well to ask questions and added suggestions in person as well.
