Comparison Reflection
After reviewing my rough and final drafts of the class assignment, I have noticed that my revisions are more surfaced rather than global. Surface revisions are little edits that are made in order to give clarity and polish a piece of writing. Global revisions are guided towards the structure of the writing, and relate more towards the quality of the content. Something that I should’ve taken into account while editing my rough draft, was that I had the opportunity to review my own essay. Instead, I just followed along with the peer reviews that my classmates had given me, which were guided towards small mistakes regarding my grammar. An example of the edits that I have made was adding in or taking out a word in a sentence in order to make it flow better. I recognize that throughout my history in writing, I have been rather scattered in my pieces, where I either move away from the topic without realizing, or I have placed content in the wrong paragraph of an essay. So instead of focusing on the minor details of my own essay, I should have gone back and checked the structure.
