Peer Review Reflection One
Peer review is commenting and making suggestions towards the written work of others. I personally nit-pick my peers work in order to make sure that their essays make sense to anyone and everyone. What I typically do is suggest that my peers change certain words or phrases in they essays, which isn’t the number one priority in essays. Therefore, I need to show personal effort in looking at paragraphs as a whole and determining if the writer is guiding their reader in a good path (in which the whole essay flows nicely and every piece is where it belongs). I myself have conflicts regarding the placement of all of my evidence and explanations, so it would be good practice to look at the work of others in order to help improve my own growth. In order to have a good review, one must give constructive criticism, but also give compliments along the way to give the writer confidence in their work! Comments don’t always need to be degrading, and it can be quite refreshing when you receive words of encouragement. Again, this is a method that I need to improve on when I write comments towards my peers. Therefore, as much as I personally need to improve upon myself, I can be confident in realizing my weak review skills, and will work towards using a larger variety of tactics in the future.
The feedback that I mostly received from my peers had to do with wording and re-phrasing. Their comments will help me think of better tactics towards using synonyms and putting more thought towards what words I am using in my text.
